Year
Select college preparatory courses that
challenge and stretch your abilities.
Explore your interests: extracurricular clubs, sports,
volunteerism, etc. Start your college web
search. Prepare to take the Ohio Graduation
Test.

Sophomore
Year
Consider taking the
PLAN and/or the PSAT.
Explore career options with your guidance office/college
access advisor.
Begin campus visits.
Take the Ohio Graduation Test.

Junior Year
Check course selections and credits with your guidance office/college
access advisor.
Find your passion through diverse recreational and community
service activities.
Explore scholarships. Do your research at the library, on the
Internet, through OCIS (ohio Career Information System), etc.
Take
PSAT / NMSQT tests in the fall. Continue campus visits.
Take the ACT
and/or SATs.
Retest sections of the Ohio Graduation Test if needed.

Fall of Senior Year
Continue to pursue a strong academic
curriculum. Obtain a Personal
Identification Number (PIN) at
www.pin.ed.gov to assist with
filing your FAFSA. -
Get financial aid/scholarship information
and/or applications from colleges, your guidance office, or a
college resource center. -
Schedule final round of
campus visits. -
Ask for letters of recommendation from
teachers, coaches, employers, etc. to use for college and
scholarship applications. Send admission applications to colleges of your choice.
Apply for scholarships. Retest sections of
the Ohio Graduation Test if needed.

January of Senior Year
Plan to attend College Goal Sunday on
February 8, 2009 with
your parents to assist with completing the
FAFSA. For more information, go to
www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org.
Be sure to file your
FAFSA by your colleges'
earliest priority dates. Check with the colleges to which you are
applying to see if they require any additional forms.
Pursue other financial aid sources (church, fraternal organizations, etc.).
Visit all campuses to which you've been admitted before making
your final decision.
Prepare for March Ohio Graduation Test - the last chance to
pass all sections to qualify for your spring commencement
ceremony.
